Setsuko Kanie was involved in creating videos in the 1990s. She made multi-screen slides for a big screen and produced NHK’s TV programs which were the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ recommendation.
In 2000, she directed and edited many companies’ promotion videos such as SONY, CANON, TAMRON, and WACOM. The videos are mainly used for companies’ PR activities overseas.
Since 2010, she has created photographers’ promotion videos. In 2020, she started shooting beautiful scenery in Japan and making short films. Then she finally made a documentary film. She directed, shot a movie, and edited. She’s done all by herself. Her film won a prize in the short film category at the Tokyo Documentary Film Festival 2022. The movie was screened in the theater in Tokyo and Osaka.

1990年より、巨大スクリーンに投影するマルチスライドやNHKの文化庁推薦番組の制作などで映像制作に関わる。
2000年からはSONY、CANON、TAMRON、WACOMなど、おもに企業の海外向けプロモーションビデオのディレクションと編集作業を担当する。
2010年以降はアーティストのPVも手がける。2020年からは日本の絶景などを撮影したショートフィルムなどを発表しながら、ドキュメンタリー映画を制作。監督、撮影、編集をなどを務めている。2022年「東京ドキュメンタリー映画祭2022、短編部門」に入賞。東京と大阪の映画館にて上映された。
